Welcome Back TDB!

Well, we are at exciting times here at Embers of the Legion. As the fall is in full-force, we are well into our second year of WoW goodness! I think its highly appropriate that at this time, we are ushering in an old friend, TDB. As some of you may be aware, we have been on UDB since going to 3.x. I wont go into all the drama and bulls* involved between TDB and UDB, but suffice it to say, TDB is made for us and will work much better.

With this knowlege in hand, I have been eagerly awaiting the newest major release from TDB. Now, I dont want to get your hopes up, the update has not been released yet; however, i have taken the time to bring the older release of TDB up to speed (it is based on the same release of UDB we were previously running).

The end result should be a much smoother interaction between the core and DB. This will translate into fewer crashes and better features for you players! While we dont have the newest fixes the TDB team is currently working on (pooled spawning and the like), we DO have new fixes that were not present on UDB that come "out-of-the-box" for TDB. Some of these fixes came from simply changing DBs, some from us being able to fix on TDB not possible in UDB, and some simply came from us getting time.

The following new features have been added this afternoon:

• Blizz-like WG honor rewards (no longer affected by our honor-boosts)
  
• Blizz-like frequency of WG battles (because we have now lowered the rewards to be offy)
  
• Voting page rewards re-activated (woo hoo, get your 4x token packs ASAP!)
  
• Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom heroic opened (thats championing and loot!)
  
• Fully working, fully scripted, fully blizz-like DK start zone (thats right, no auto-completes!!!)

As you can see, this change over to TDB has rendered quite a bit of new stuff for Embers (and remember, this isn't even the big change, this DB was released in August). I'm really excited about getting WG back down to earth and opening the new Azjol-Nerub heroic. Thats FOUR heroics you guys can run every day now, and, just so you know, there are another 3 or 4 that are really close.

Anyway, the only bad thing about changing like this is we lost our custom fixes. I see it as a "one step back, two steps forward" type of a thing, but i realize it is an inconvenience, and i apologize for that. I tried to catch as much of the major stuff in our test environment before making this move, but i know for a fact we at least missed the Arena vendors. Currenlty they are selling 'Deadly' and not 'Furious' gear. We are working on fixing this ASAP, but please be patient. Any other bugs that were re-introduced from this switch should be reported in the official UDB-to-TDB bug thread.
