[item bug] Heirloom Plate gear not usable (as MAIL) by low lvl toons

When trying to equip these 2 heirloom items on my Lvl 7 Pally

Strengthend Stockade Pauldrons

and

Polished Breatplate of Valor

I get this: "You do not have the required proficiency for that item" error, and it will not allow me to equip...

The item tooltip show it as a "Mail" item (as it should until pallys learn plate) but i think it is still being considered a "plate" item, and thus the error... Heirlooms are designed to be usable from 1-80, so these items, while being "plate", are supposed to be useable (as "mail") until your toon (pally, warrior) learns plate proficiency...

If this is a core bug, and unfixable by GMs, might it be possible for me to get a refund of my Seals that were spent on this item?

heirloom gear, that's no good prior to lvl 40, is not much use IMO at least let me swap for the straight "mail" version of the chest so i can pwn the first 20+ lvls

yea spy is right tis is a bug i cant equip my heirlooms on my warrior

bug is ancient, sucks its still around...b/c its reported already...

im guessing its not a easy fix?

or its not high on core devs priorities...
