New Host Coming Soon! (edit: ITS UP!!!)

So, you guys aren't the only ones annoyed by the lag. The owner of the server (above our host) has decided that he doesn't want to serve up Embers anymore. We DO have all the current data from when the server went down this morning, but we cant run TrinityCore on it any more.

I see this as a mostly great thing for us as a whole. Now, we can get a dedicated server, and play with full control over what is going on our machine. I am going to perform an update during this time as well to TDB 0.0.2, so that should be good as well. The only bad thing is that we are gonna have about a day or two of downtime.

I have already been looking and i think i found a good setup for us; its gonna cost about $100/month no matter what i end up settling on with hardware. With this new era of hosting, will also come my open invitation to you players for monthly donations. For the people who can afford it, $5-10 is quite sufficient to help out. I'll get a paypal account for the server set up and our website is actually set up for tracking donations through paypal. So, we will be able to reward you for your generosity (my initial thought is embers tokens and creating another bot that requires a special donor's item to use).

Anyway, sorta crazy way to wake up this morning...but you guys are in good hands, i promise. We're working hard to get Embers back online ASAP.

GREAT NEWS!

I have just connected to our new server! This is excellent for Embers, obviously, as now the power is in MY hands and not some company in Canada.

SO, from here, i have a S* ton of work to do. Basically, the only thing installed is the OS, so i have to get the environment up and running properly. After that, i can install trinity, which should be fairly painless since i've done it so many times at this point.

Anyway, i will post an update as to how far i get at the end of the night, BUT...if all goes at least 80% well, I hope to have this bad boy up and running within the next 24-48 hours...please though, do not quote me on this.

Sorry for no update last night. I am getting very close to getting this thing up. So stayed tuned

Ok...so, good and bad news. Good news is, i have the server up and running. Bad news is, vmaps is giving me a helluva time atm. I am gonna be pretty busy this weekend, but i will try to get it fixed (or have a staff member get it fixed) asap. Until then, vmaps will be disabled. Thanks for you patience and welcome to the new Embers of the Legion!!!!

I will set up DNS next week, but until then, you must use the IP address. The website works if you use the IP as well.
