PostSubject: When to install TBC   Wed Mar 04, 2009 2:24 pm

OK, I know this sounds like a stupid question but at what point in the patching do I install TBC?

Disregard. TBC is installed after WoW-1.12.x-to-2.0.1-enUS-patch. Then you can continue the other patches up to 2.4.3.

Hmmmmm Maybe I should become a GM.

lol!

Arch... where were ya when I was getting ready to install? LOL Of course the whole ordeal wouldn't have been necessary if a virus hadn't snuck in from a website whilst my AV was off and killed certain svchosts. Perhaps that was a good thing since I hadn't wiped this thing in over a year. (PC techs are bad to their own PCs. Sad ) Reinstalling XP is not the issue, it's the $10K in software. LOL

Anyway, now we all know. Install TBC right after the first WoW.

Thanks, Arch. Smile

Oddly enough, with my ancient Asus mobo, 320 GB WD IDE drive, AMD 3000+ processor and a gig of PC3200 RAM, it only takes about 20 minutes to install XP... maybe another 45 minues to do all the Windows Updates and I'm good to go.

It took longer to install WoW and its patches. LMAO

I have noticed that some XP versions take longer to install than others.
I usually use "cut" versions where all shit is left out so they take about 15mins to install. updates usually take the couple hours thought.

In 24 years of dealing with Microsoft Windows I've NEVER seen a version (since Windows 95 anyway) that doesn't have updates. Microsoft put them out on the 15th of every month and sometimes more often than that if needs be.

No updates? Hmmmmmmm I'd be worried.

Ah, well there you go. Us old-time techs NEVER use automatic updates. We're too bloody picky about what goes into/onto our PCs. Wink
