Well folks, the moment of truth has arrived! TDB and TrinityCore have both released supported cuts of 3.0.9 content. What this means for us at Embers is that we need to download WotLK and download patches up to 3.0.9.

Suggested Install of WotLK

• Change the name of your 2.4.3 install from 'World of Warcraft' to 'World of Warcraft 2.4.3' or something along those lines (that way, you will have a 2.4.3 backup)
  
• Download and install 3.0.0 from the official site [ DOWNLOAD WOTLK HERE ] (1.9 - 6.4GB) (run the app and select WotLK)
  
• ONLY PATCH TO 3.0.9!!! CURRENT BLIZZARD PATCH IS 3.1!!!
  
• Manually download patches up to 3.0.9 and apply one at a time (go to curse.com or something)
  
• Burn data to external disc(s) to clear space and save time for future installs

Following those steps should get you two clean installs of WoW side-by-side. I hope to get it going in a test realm (which, what the heck, i'll open up to your accounts) this week and hopefully port over our char data this weekend. I suggest downloading and installing this week so you are ready for the switch over.

I have the test realm up (it is at 100% default settings, so heads up). Anyone can go in and check it out if they have 3.0.9. IF you want to play around with the new content, PM me and i will open up your account manually to Northrend. MAKE SURE YOU GIVE ME YOUR ACCOUNT NAME!

Now...although the characters are exactly the same as when i shutdown to test, they are completely different than OFFICIAL ones. Our official supported realm is still 2.4.3 for another day.

As of 5:30pm GMT (GST -7) Friday March 13, 2009, Embers of the Legion will officially move over to WotLK.

We will still run the 2.4.3 realm for people who haven't upgraded yet, or who cant just yet, however, that realm will no longer be supported in any way after that time. No bugs will be fixed, no backups will be made, no progress will be moved over. Anything accomplished up until i shut down server to move over tomorrow will be transfered over to WotLK. Any progress in the 2.4.3 realm after the move to 3.0.9 will be at your own risk.
